Kyoto: Kinkaku-ji

also known as the Golden Pavilion

Truly a beautiful site.  It shows the Japanese attention to detail and the scale of which they work. I explained to my wife, “I may have taken this shot, but the true composers of this picture are the artisans, gardeners, architects who have designed this place, groomed it and tended to it for hundreds of years.” Even the placement of the trees, how and where the branches lean and the patience of grooming and nudging nature for many years humbles me.
